Hot and Muggy

Well guys its been a hot and muggy time over the weekend, it seems like we have a storm and then it heats up, again, only hotter and wetter than before. It doesn't really make you want to do anything.

Well you may have had a look at the photo's and wondered what on earth they were about. Well the first is Singalonga Sound of Music. Its where everyone gets dressed up as something out of the sound of music. There are "girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes, with snowflakes on their nose and eyelashes", there was a great lineup of cross dressing nuns and there was a MC called Heidi, shes in the photos but not really recognisable. The nun was sitting behind me, and as she is the only one really in focus - I tried to get the settings right, but the photos arent really acceptable, its just an impression more than anything.
We watched the movie as well, no sex, no swearing, and no "work" done on the leading lady, a really beautiful woman, untouched by Hollywood plastic surgeons.

Singalong A Sound of Music

The other album covers Symphony in the Park, last Saturday was another rainy and windy day, but Sunday cleared up and Symphony in the Park went ahead. We got off street parking right across the road at a friend of Cathys, and they even cut down a Yucca to make a view for us. We listened from her front porch, for quite sometime, but went over to the park to see Kiri. There were plenty of people to see Kiri Te Kanawa, but she had competition from Hayley Westenra at Villa Maria, so perhaps there weren't as many there as could of been. However it was a lovely night and we got out well before the hoi po loi so were home and tucked up in bed within 10 mins. It took us a lot longer to get our park!

Symphony in the Park

This weekend we were going up north to Rangiputa with enough fly spray to cope with the mossies, but the weather forecast was hopeless, and one of Allen's relatives passed on, so we went to a funeral instead. Ray and Pam came up and we had lunch and then the funeral, and after that a few drinks at the New Brew in William Pickering Drive, and after that dinner at the LoneStar. They were staying in Auckland so fortunately didn't have to drive all the way back to Te Awamutu.

I am meant to be making a coat for this terms sewing - couture or should that be coature, it seems to be going well, but the proof will be in the pudding.

We are having a French night at Shels and Johns tonight. John has had campalabactor, (food poisoning) and is only now allowed to touch food.
